Freedom from Unseen Fetters

The news, this week, has been dominated by headlines about the passing of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. There has been applause for the things he pioneered, the charitable causes he supported, and the strong sense of duty and public service that hallmarked his life.

There has also been, quite rightly, a recognition of the huge void his death leaves in the life of the Queen, after 73 years of marriage, and 69 years of supporting her role in the UK, and across the Commonwealth.

Whatever you may think of the British Monarchy, the Queen is now a widow, and we can at least have compassion and empathy with what that must feel like, after so many decades of Prince Philip’s constant and consistent partnership.

So, with this in mind, one headline deeply troubled me.

It was this: ‘Prince Philip’s secret life as Freemason – Duke’s work in tight-lipped society remembered‘.

Part of me hopes it’s untrue. Another part of me hopes that, if true, he renounced his association with it and professed faith in Jesus Christ before he died.

The reason is simple: Freemasonry has deep, profound and troubling spiritual repercussions for those who enter into it, and for the generations that follow. (See here, if this is new to you.)

When I was in my twenties, I remember attending a talk given by a South African Christian man, who was a former Freemason.

Without going into the details, he explained the initiation rites that are undertaken, in secret, through the first three degrees. He also explained how he had risen through the various degrees, to a high ranking position in his lodge, not realising the spiritual repercussions of what he was doing – until a series of disturbing things happened, which led him to decide to leave the Freemasons.

Let’s just say that it wasn’t straightforward and, after he left, he was tormented for many months – until a new-found friend introduced him to Jesus, who helped him find freedom, release and deliverance.

By the time he was speaking to us, he knew that his life’s calling was to expose the dangers and repercussions of Freemasonry, and to point people to Jesus – which is exactly what he did that winter’s evening.

Of all the things he spoke to us about, one in particular has stayed with me since.

He said that, when there has been Freemasonry in a family line, it will always outwork itself in subsequent generations – and it will often be particularly evidenced by ‘female problemsin women (such as infertility, ectopic pregnancies, chronic period pain, miscarriages, etc) and ‘addictive behaviours’ in men (such as compulsions with online porn, binge watching TV, over-eating, alcohol or other substance abuse, gambling, etc).

I have been praying regularly with people, for more than two decades, through a practice called ‘Christian prayer ministry’, offered in many mainstream Bible-believing Christian churches. (See here, if you are unfamiliar with this term.)

During this time, I have prayed for many women who have been experiencing ‘female problems’. However, two instances stand out in my memory, because, in both cases, God gave me a ‘word of knowledge’* that their infertility was caused by Freemasonry in their family line.

In both cases, these women had grandfathers and, in one case, a great grandfather and a great great grandfather, who had been Freemasons. One was profoundly shocked to think that there could be a link, from those past generations, with the infertility she was experiencing. The other asked me how I knew, as I was the third person, in three months, who had suggested that this could be the root cause of her infertility.

Without going into detail, both were willing, with their husbands, to receive specialist prayer ministry. (My church has a referral service for this to take place.) Both experienced freedom from the spiritual impacts of Freemasonry coming down their family lines. Both went on to conceive naturally after this had happened. And both now have healthy children.

If you need convincing, then I commend to you this powerful story of freedom from Freemasonry, told by a man who is very easy to listen to, because he has a lovely way of speaking.

Along the way, you will hear him talk about the pain of bereavement and divorce; his experience of being at the receiving end of ‘words of knowledge’* and wanting to deny them; what it was like to witness the resurrection from the dead of his niece; and how he found faith in Jesus Christ and, through that, freedom and release from Freemasonry.

It will be well worth giving this 45 minutes of your time. So perhaps consider substituting this in place of a Netflix movie one evening this week, so that you can watch it!

*A word about ‘words of knowledge’ …

A word of knowledge is one of the spiritual gifts that God gives to Christians, to build up the body of Christ. It is not an occult power, which some spiritual mediums claim. It is a gift that is exercised when the Holy Spirit of God provides information to someone about the condition of another person, in order that God might act, and get all the glory.

The gift of words of knowledge is mentioned four times in the Bible: 1 Corinthians 12:81 Corinthians 13:1-31 Corinthians 13:8, and 1 Corinthians 14:6. It is neither defined nor explained in any of these places. However, it is generally accepted that it can include the ability to know facts about a situation, or a spiritual principle, that could not have been known by natural means.

When it is used in this way, it is a gift that allows someone to see a person, or a situation, as God sees them, or it.

At the end of the day, I don’t know whether Prince Philip was, or wasn’t a Freemason when he died. I don’t know whether the repercussions have been, are being, or will be, felt in the generations of the British Royal family that are following on after him. I don’t know whether he repented and found faith in Jesus Christ before it was too late.

But I do know that, if you or anyone in your family line, has been involved in Freemasonry, then you would be wise to seek Christian prayer for healing and deliverance, in the name of Jesus, so that you can be spiritually set free from its repercussions.

If this is you, then a good place to start would be to pray. (See here, if you’re not sure how.)
